1. About AYP

"The establishment of the Award is to help both the young as well as those who are concerned for their welfare."

2. Join AYP at school
1. Complete the three levels progressively
OR
2. Start with Direct Silver for S4 or above (who are aged 15 or above)

Go to ‘Resources’ and download ‘New participants application at DGS’

Send the completed form to Mr. N.T. Ip through email
-
'Parent letter for joining AYP ’ will be sent to you. Print and let your parents sign the parents’ letter
-
Hand in the signed reply slip to Mr. N.T. Ip in person
-
Later you will need to swipe your student card at the office to pay $35
For direct silver participants: you will also need to send a proposal (the template of the proposal can be found on our website) to Mr. N.T. Ip via email and submit a hardcopy of the proposal to Zoe Lee (4X).
It takes 2-3 weeks for the new AYP record book to arrive.
3. In-school membership requirements
Claiming membership in AYP
1. Attend our AGMs
2. Progress report and submission of AYP booklet
- 1st term: Nov (exact date tbc)
- 3rd term: May (exact date tbc)
Stage 1: Start two sections
Stage 2: Start third section
Stage 3: End any two sections, start fourth section
Stage 4: End all sections
If you have fulfilled the above requirements, fill in the google form and scan your AYP booklet together with the “Activity Record Form” which can be downloaded from "Resources".
* To claim membership, you MUST hand in the AYP booklet and the Activity Record Form during the collection of AYP booklets periods in the 3rd Term
3. Additional submission for the started stage
Direct silver participant: hand in “DIRECT SILVER PROPOSAL FORM”
Direct gold participant: hand in PLANS which are submitted to the SOA for any started sections
4. Proceeding to a higher level/ changing of entry level/ claiming of awards

Find Mrs. H. Leung to claim badges

If your age does not reach the age requirement of the next level, start the next level after getting back your booklet and badge from teacher
2. After finishing 4 sections

Finish service, skills, physical recreation and expeditions

Find Mrs. H. Leung to claim badges and tell him that you will start the next level before getting back the booklet

If your age reaches the age requirement of the next level, start the next level before getting back the booklet
3. Advance Progression (After finishing 3 sections)

Finish service, skills, physical recreation

Find Mrs. H. Leung to submit form (from our website) and booklet in person
-
Make sure your age has reached the requirement
- Changing to a higher level
E.g. Bronze→ Direct Silver

Tell Mrs. H. Leung the level that you want to change

Hand in your AYP booklet to Mrs. H. Leung
- Claiming of awards

Submit your booklet together with any necessary forms before the final exams

Remember to put down you age in years and months.

Schools will not make arrangement for students to apply AOA courses
6. Special reminders

Please start your booklets and claim your awards before the first day of final exams

AYP booklet ≠ CYC booklet

Remember to update your class and class number on the upper right corner of the first page in your AYP booklet

Although you can start the level before getting the booklet, you should make sure that it is within three months
-
The end date of the activity should at least cover the first day of getting the booklet.
